Metaphor*phosis! is a powerful space for poetry, spoken word, music and movement! A unique venue to entertain the diverse worldviews and dimensions that inform our ever-evolving human experience, Metaphor*phosis! cultivates embodied and relational awareness, an optimal way to experience poetry and imaginal. This mindful state and subtle "feeling into" what story is collectively emerging is what poet Angelo Williams calls "listening with our third ear." The intent of Metaphor*phosis! is to attract and cultivate grounded visionaries, poets and artists whose creative works reflect the multiplicity of existing realties, and project a vision of the possibile. Whether you offer a poem on the open mic or bear witness to one of the featured performers, come help create a space where we can share and connect our individual stories to those of an increasingly deeper community—family, neighborhood, nation, world and cosmos. Come listen, evoke and dance! September 17th will feature Oakland Poetry Slam Champion, Sam Sax and World Beatboxing Champion and 'America's Got Talent' finalist, Butterscotch.
